Cooling Upgrade for Data Center and UPS
Topeka, KS 186,590 SQ FT
Completed: January 14, 2020The state of Kansas wanted to improve the cooling capacity at the Landon State Office Building to better serve the data center and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) housed there.
We decommissioned, removed and disposed of the old equipment and fluids. McElroy’s installed a new 160-ton packaged, air-cooled chiller, plus the associated chilled water storage tank, plate-and-frame heat exchanger, pumps, expansion tank, glycol feed unit and by-pass chemical feeder. Connecting piping and valve controls integrated the new equipment with remaining system elements, and was timed to minimize disruption.
McElroy’s provided automatic temperature controls and programming, and then tested and balanced the system to ensure complete and optimum function. Our expert construction and maintenance teams help keep data center environments operating reliably with efficiency and security.
